pupils at a Doncaster primary school have started the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations early with a tree planting event.

The green-fingered youngsters from Armthorpe’s Southfield Primary school did their bit for the environment as part of a project which will see one million trees planted nationally in a year.

The tree planting task is one of many events going on around the borough to mark 60 years of The Queen’s reign. The official celebrations will start on June 2 to June 5.
