A ride out and a big brew raised over £500 for a spinal research charity.
The Eastoft event staged by villager Pete Walker as part of Guy Martin’s Big Brew effort included a 78-mile biker ride organised by another villager, Helen Thompson.
Mr Walker, 55, of The Moorings, got involved to support North Lincolnshire bike racer Guy Martin with his chosen charity, and because he himself has a spinal injury incurred in his teens.
The big brew took place at the River Don Tavern, Eastoft, and included entertainment for all the family on Saturday.
Mr Walker said: “It was a great day and Lynette Creswell the author turned up to give her books for auction. We made a good sum and although it’s too late for research to benefit me, it might help others in the future.”
