A group of intrepid runners braved icy and windy conditions to complete an amazing 50 mile charity run.

Chris Payne, of Graizelound, Neil Rowland, of Epworth and Stephen Hnatyszyn and Gregg Morell joined Julian Moorhouse, of Epworth’s Metres to Miles, for the gruelling challenge of the Peatland Way run on Sunday.

Neil said: “There were snow drifts of eight to 12 inches around Epworth, but when we got to Hatfield it started to thaw. It was very windy and wet and slushy but we managed to finish the route in nine hours 30 minutes.”

Cash raised will go to British Limbless Ex-servicemens’ Association and Lives first responders in the Isle.
