Only paws-ing for a pant were a bunch of enthusiastic dogs, and their owners, who took part in a sponsored walk on Saturday.

The event which started from Oakley Equestrian Centre in Crowle was to raise money for Isle Rescue -a West Stockwith based animal rescue centre.

Among the organisers was Lianne Taylor, owner of The Feed Room, who said: “It was great, there were about 14 of us altogether.

“We walked in total eight miles, and took along two of the rescue dogs who really enjoyed it.

“It took between two and a half and three hours, and the weather helped us.”

She said the dogs were met at the end of the walk by Mandy from Isle Rescue who provided treats for them all.

Everyone who entered either made a donnation of £5 or was sponsored to take part and altogether a total of £320 was raised.

All those who took part was entered in a raffle for a dog hamper.

This was won by Jacob who attended with his dog Jack who was rehomed from the rescue centre.

Lianne added: “It was a really good turnout.

“We will be looking to do one again next year when the weather is a bit nicer.”
