An Isle youth group has no need to peg their hopes on a Lotto win as a local charity has stepped up in-tent on helping them out.

The Isle of Axholme Lions recently handed over a cheque for £500 to the Belton Guides and Rangers.

The donation is to be used to buy a much needed large tent which will be utilised as a mess tent and meeting place for the club when they are out in the field.

Pictured is the money being handed to the group’s representative Mrs Heath from the new Lions President Peter Lindley from Haxey.

The organisation’s next fundraiser is a fun quiz supper on Saturday September 21.

This will be raising money on behalf of the Lindsey Lodge Hospice and takes place at 7pm for 7.30pm.

All are welcome to attend and tickets are available from Peter Lindley on 01427 752076.

The spokesman added: “Do not delay, tickets are going fast.”

Earlier this year the 1st Belton Guides and 1st Belton Brownies were awarded £607.50 each towards the cost of running their premises from the North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Capital Grant Fund pot of £500,000.
