Is this the smallest dog in Doncaster?

Jodie Brazil believes that her pet chihuahua could even be the smallest dog in the world!

Jodie, of Wheatley Hall Road, revealed that her pretty pooch four-year old Lacy Lou is ‘smaller than a Barbie doll’ and can stand across the palms of her hands.

The pocket-sized pet, who loves nothing better than travelling around in Jodie’s handbag, has even received offers from the world of show business because of her miniscule proportions.

Jodie explained: “I got Lacy Lou as an eight-week-old puppy from a breeder in Luton. The breeder told me that her father, a pure white Chihuahua, was working at the Nickleodeon studios in America and that some of her family members had been in the Guinness Book of Records for being so small.

“She told me that Lacy Lou would be a special dog and at the time I didn’t know whether to believe her or not. Her mum was also tiny, but as time has gone on, Lacy has remained puppy-sized. I was once walking her on Eastbourne beach, when I lived down south, and someone came up to me and offered me £4,000 for her. I said no; I’d never sell her. I was also approached by the man who trained the parrot for the Pirates of the Caribbean films, who said she would do well in show business.”

When Jodie is out and about in Doncaster with her tiny pet, she regularly gets stopped by members of the public who are astounded by Lacy Lou’s size.

She said: “People often ask me if they can take photos of her. She’s so small, it’s unbelievable. I’ve been told by a vet that I can’t breed from her because she’s so small it could put her health at risk. As for the world of show business, I don’t know. If the right offer came along and Lacy was happy with it, we might go for it. I used to be a part-time model and she loved posing with me. She also loves having her nails painted and dressing up.”

Fully grown chihuahuas measure between six and eight inches in height.
