AN injured former soldier is a step closer to his Paralympic dream, thanks to a donation from tenants and residents in Doncaster.

Craig Wood, 20, who lost his legs and part of his left arm in a bomb blast in Afghanistan in 2009, received £300 from Latin Gardens and Emley Drive Tenants’ and Residents’ Association following an autumn fair.

Craig, from Woodlands, wants to be part of the 2016 Paralympics sailing team for the Game in Brazil.

The money will buy Craig a tactical sailing compass.

He said: “This is a great boost.”
