CELEBRATING the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year with a 1950’s street party were members of the Haxey and Westwoodside Heritage Society.

Following weeks of discussion the committee dressed Westwoodside Village Hall for the occasion with Union Jack flags, serviettes and balloons.

Opening the event chairman Jackie Starr welcomed members following which 39 members enjoyed the food, reminiscing past events and examining the memorabilia items on display. Each guest received a Society inscribed Jubilee mug as a memento. The evening ended with singing accompanied on the piano by Mrs Shirley Hinchliffe.
