CHILDREN as young as four and their families are being invited to ‘fat camps’ in a bid to tackle obesity among youngsters.
The clubs have started in Edlington and at The Dome and run for 12 weeks. The free Carnegie Weight Management Clubs are funded by NHS Doncaster and are held between two and three-and-a-half hours at a time.
Clubs for children aged four to ten are held at Edlington Victoria Primary School in Victoria Road, every Saturday from 10am to noon.
Also for the same age group are sessions at The Dome which kicked-off on Tuesday. They are held every Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm.
Clubs for young people aged 11 to 17 have started at Sir Thomas Wharton Community College in Tait Avenue, Edlington, and are held each Saturday from 12.30pm to 4pm.
More clubs for the same age group are at The Dome every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm.
