Labour leader Ed Miliband visited Doncaster’s fundraising memory tree today to give a boost to efforts to raise money for fighting cancer in the borough.
The Doncaster North MP met officials from the Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust, which set up the Chistmas Tree in the Frenchgate Centre every Christmas.
This year is the 16th year the tree has been in the centre, and it will remain there until December 22.
People donate money to the charity and leave a message on the tree for a loved one who has died of cancer. So far it has raised £2,949 this year.
The money goes towards buying equipment to fight cancer in Doncaster.
