The fantastic fundraising efforts of Doncaster widow Pat Gardner mean that three busy locations in the town will now benefit from lifesaving defibrillators being installed.

Three automated external defbrillators (AEDs), worth around £800 each, are being placed in Doncaster Market, Cusworth Hall and Brodsworth Hall thanks to the £2,400 raised by Pat for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charitable Fund and matched funding from the British Heart Foundation.

Pat, of Balby, was widowed in September 2009 when her husband Terry collapsed suddenly in the street and passed away despite the efforts of the emergency crew to resuscitate him.
