About a third of Dearne residents are considered inactive, according to a new survey.

A report by UK Active found 35 per cent of Barnsley residents are inactive, with 34 per cent in Rotherham and 32 per cent in Doncaster. UK Active member Darren Padgett said the government should put more funding into healthy living schemes and added: “Inactivity is responsible for one in six deaths in the UK.”
