Have your say

Women from all over Doncaster and beyond swarmed Town Fields in their pink to show their defiance to cancer and to take part in Race for Life, and our photograher was there to mark the event.

Hundreds of families, friends and supporters of cancer sufferers ran, walked and even crawled the 5k course, after a rousing warm-up session that included moves form Belrobics - a belly dancing fitness regime.

Teams and individuals ran off to resounding cheers and blaring music, and all managed to make it back to the finish line where crowds of cheering supporters were waiting to welcome them home.

Participants wore pink clothes, pink wigs, and some bedecked their dogs out in pink to accompany them on their journey. One 12-strong party wore wedding dresses and ran under the banner of Runaway Brides.

There were people who themselves are fighting cancer, and others who had lost loved ones very recently.

The turnout was hailed by organisers as fantastic.

And the sun beat down throughout the day and evening, to help make the occasion so much more memorable.
