A METALS recycling manager showed his true mettle by joining the field for the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield.
Sean Haywood, 30, of Bolton-on-Dearne, hopes to have raised over £800 for the Peter Moorhead Haemodialysis Unit at the Northern General Hospital.
Sean’s father, Peter, is treated frequently at the hospital for kidney dialysis. He is awaiting a transplant but has a rare blood group, and Sean undertook the run last weekend to raise cash for the unit in appreciation of what they do.
“Friends, workmates and the company chiefs have all chipped in. Everyone’s been incredibly supportive,” said Sean, who works for the Parkgate-based Ron Hull Group but is also a tae kwon do instructor.
Ron Hull director Nigel Hull said: “We’re delighted to support such a worthy cause.”
