WORK has been completed on a refurbishment project at Doncaster Royal Infirmary
Workmen have transformed the hospital’s Theatre Admissions Unit, where day surgery patients wait and prepare for their operations.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust says it has transformed it into a light and thoroughly modern space, helping to alleviate the anxiety patients can feel when they come into hospital for an operation.
It is part of a bigger building project which will see a brand-new day surgery unit open at DRI this summer.
Sister Stephanie Mozley, who manages the theatre admissions unit, said: “The unit is designed to reduce the worry for patients and give them a tranquil environment in which to prepare for their operations.”
