A mother and daughter team has raised more than £600 for the Mallard Ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary after taking part in a charity ‘colour run’.

Wath woman Karen Leeder and her six-year old daughter Madison took part in the 5km race with Karen’s friend Louise Hagland at Graves Park, Sheffield. It involved racers being doused with paint at different intervals.

They raised money for the ward after staff cared for Karen’s father John Oldroyd, of Carcroft, who died in October after being diagnosed with vascular dementia in August 2013. Karen said: “We had an absolute ball, but more importantly, we raised £620 for Mallard.”
