HEART attack victims are being encouraged to use a service that aims to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

The community cardiac service, based at Cantley Health Centre in Goodison Boulevard, is a six-week support programme run by a team of specialist nurses and physiotherapists who work with people who have suffered heart-related problems.

They provide advice and support on how to make healthy lifestyle changes such as stopping smoking, exercising and using medication.

People eligible to use the scheme, run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), can ring 01302 379518, email rdash.cardiac@nhs.net or ask their GP or practice nurse for a referral.
