The Isle of Axholme Tractor Run raised a wheely fantastic sum of £3,000 for Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

Around 80 tractors paraded around the streets for the third time this year and it was even busier than ever with spectators of all ages.

Organiser Geoff Fillingham is pleased with the amount raised. He said: “Thank you to everyone who came along and helped organised it in order to raise a fantastic sum for a worthy charity.

“The hospice has touched many people’s hearts including my own and I will never forget the incredible care my wife, Carole, received who passed away there in 2007.

“The nurses were incredible and the care was second-to-none.”

The hospice on Burringham Road in Scunthorpe cares for 150 local people with life-limiting illnesses and their families every single week. The hospice needs to raise £2.4 million this year to keep the vital service running for the community.
