The first results from a new test asking patients if they would recommend Doncaster and Bassetlaw’s hospitals to loved ones are out.
Results for the trust were slightly above the national average with an average overall Net Promoter Score of 74 - compared to the national figure of 63.
The score for inpatients only was 77 - compared to the national figure of 70 and 59 for A&E patients only compare with 53 nationally.
The test was introduced in April.
Patients who attend Emergency Departments or who have an overnight stay on a medical or surgical ward are asked to complete the survey.
The scores for each inpatient ward and Emergency Department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital in Mexborough will be published on www.dbh.nhs.uk.
Deirdre Fowler, Acting Director of Nursing, Midwifery & Quality at the Trust, said: “This kind of feedback is a very valuable way of assessing and continuously enhancing the quality of the care we provide so we would encourage all our inpatients and anyone attending our Emergency Departments (A&E) to take part. We do listen and respond to what our patients and visitors say and make improvements as a result.”
