YESTERDAY’S Yorkshire ambulance strike failed to disrupt services at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, say hospital bosses.

A spokesman for the hospital said it was unaffected by the action by members of the Unite union.

She said patient transport services and emergency ambulance services worked as normal, despite the action by around 10 per cent of staff at the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Paul Mudd, locality director of emergency operations at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, said: “The strike action has involved less than 10 per cent of the total staff employed by the Trust and the vast majority of our staff have been working as normal, delivering safe services to patients across the region.”
