Nine month old tot, Harriet Drury is a ‘happy little thing’ who laughed and smiled her way to being crowned Doncaster’s cutest kid.
With her gorgeous smile and beautiful fair hair, Harriet was always in the running to take the crown - but to mum, Caroline, it still came as a shock.
Caroline Drury of Church View, Wadworth, said: “Well we all think she’s gorgeous because she’s our beautiful daughter, but we didn’t expect she would win.
“The whole family is really excited. We knew a lot of our friends and family were voting but it’s still come as a massive shock.”
More than 115 youngsters were entered in the contest, but it was Harriet who captured our readers’ hearts to win the public vote.
Caroline, 32, said: “She’s such a happy little girl. At the moment she’s trying to walk and is into anything that isn’t one of her toys - my keys in particular.”
In August we launched our 2013 competition when we held our photographic sessions at Astrabound, play centre in Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster, which saw children - from newborns to five-year-olds - being snapped. Then we gave you the chance to vote for your favourite child in our heats before whittling down our entries to crown our winner.
All photographs for the competition were taken by photographic company Studio Twenty-4.
Our heats started in September where each week we ran a feature with our different age categories starting with the zero to five months, then the six to 11 months, followed by the 12 to 23 months and finally the two to five years.
The children with the most votes from the categories were then placed into our top 30, then we featured our top 20. This was finally whittled down to our top 10, before crowning Harriet the winner. Harriet receives a basket of top goodies along with her title.
Prizes include a £50 voucher courtesy of Frankie and Benny’s, a family ticket to see Disney on Ice production Dare to Dream at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield and a gift from Tomy’s nursery and toys collection.
