A GOLF foundation set up in the memory of a popular sporty teacher has swung into action.
The Richard Waight Schools Golf Foundation offers golfing tuition to schools across the borough.
It has been launched through Ken and Jackie Waight of Sprotbrough, the parents of Richard who died from Sudden Arrythmia Death Syndrome (or SADS) in 2009 at the age of 23.
They wanted to continue the work Richard, a teacher at Hayfield School, had started which gave weekly golfing tuition to youngsters.
The foundation’s first workshop was held at Rossington All Saints School in Bond Street.
A memorial golf in aid of Richard is also being held on May 19 from 1pm at Doncaster Golf Club in Bawtry Road, Bessacarr.
