Controversial politician George Galloway will come to a Doncaster school next week as star guest in a political radio debate.

The event has been rescheduled from a postponed event in September last year.

The broadcast will start at 8pm with a warm up from 7.30pm and will last until 9pm.

Mr Galloway first became known in Scottish politics, before becoming General Secretary of the London-based charity War on Want in 1983.

He was elected to parliament in 1987 as a Labour MP but in October 2003, Galloway was expelled from the party, having been found guilty of four charges of bringing the party into disrepute.

He became a member of the Respect Party in 2004 and since 2012 has been the MP for Bradford West.

His controversial views on former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict have also seen him in the headlines over the years.

In January 2006, he appeared on the fourth series of reality show Celebrity Big Brother and was widely riducled by opponents after he mimed licking milk, while pretending to be a cat, from the cupped hands of another housemate, actress Rula Lenska.
