STAFF from a DIY store shook their buckets to raise cash for charity.
The fantastic fundraising workers from Homebase off Church View went into the town centre and talked to shoppers about their cause outside Primark in Baxter Gate.
The charitable event also included a performance by staff member Marian Bango who played the violin to wow the crowds.
The fundraiser managed to bring in £455 which will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The trust, which provides help for young people to fight cancer, is Homebase’s nationally sponsored charity.
Angela White, a warehouse team co-ordinator at the DIY store, said: “The event went really well, we were delighted with the response and the weather was good for us.
“Everyone seemed to really enjoy Marian’s performance and we got plenty of donations in the buckets.
“It’s an important cause for us because it’s Homebase’s sponsored charity so we wanted to do something for it.
“We’ve got a few plans in future for more fundraisers and are hoping to do something every year for the trust.”
Fundraising ideas from the charitable group have included daredevil staff doing a skydive.
