Both Britain’s Got Talent and the X Factor are the UK’s most talked about shows and Sheffield’s involvement in both puts the city well and truly on the entertainment map once again.
Set to take the UK by storm on his new solo tour, Gary Barlow will be delighting his Sheffield fans as he performs new solo tracks and Take That classics at Sheffield City Hall on Wednesday November 28.
The singer will be coming to the city as part of his well anticipated solo tour ‘Gary Barlow: In Concert’. His popularity is as strong as ever as the Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall tickets sold out in the same day as they went on sale.
After 20 years in the business, over 50 million records sold, eight No.1 albums, fourteen No.1 singles, seven million concert tickets sold and six Ivor Novello Awards, Gary Barlow is regarded as one of Britain’s most successful singer songwriters. The tour is set to delight the audience with Take That’s most popular hits such as ‘Back for Good’ as well as a special insight into his new solo recordings.
Gary commented: “Playing live is my favourite thing and I haven’t played a solo show for over a year now. Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, we all had such a good time, so I thought right let’s get out and see the rest of the country!”
His performance at the Royal Albert Hall last year helped him gain wide spread critical acclaim. Currently, Gary is head judge on the X Factor, Britain’s most talked about annual TV show which sees him coach and guide his acts through tough heats week after week. Sheffield will soon be preparing for talented acts of it’s own as Britain’s Got Talent descends on Sheffield City Hall for this first time in the series history.
Hopeful contestants will be initially auditioning for places to perform in front of the celebrity judges. More will be revealed over the coming months.
