AS the summer flowers begin to reach full bloom a group of keen gardeners in Swinton are once again opening up their gates to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The Swinton Open Garden Trail takes place this weekend (June 23 and 24) with distinctive and well manicured gardens on show to the public.
Organiser Marilyn Tinsley said: “There are some beautiful gardens all around Swinton and the Trail gives people the chance to take them all in while raising money for a very good cause.”
The open garden trail has raised more than £30,000 for Bluebell Wood since it started eight years ago.
People have travelled from across the county and as far away as Hull for the trail which is becoming an annual must see for local garden admirers. The event is also supported by the Swinton Lock Activity Centre with a full weekend programme.
