HUNDREDS gathered at St Nicholas Church, Thorne, to say farewell to a Doncaster war hero.

Family, friends and members of Sgt Lee Davidson’s regiment gathered at the parish church, as his body was carried inside by former colleagues from the Light Dragoons.

Sgt Davidson was killed when he was blown up by a roadside bomb in Nahr-e-Saraj in Helmand province last month.
