A PRIVATE funeral of a little girl who died after a train struck the car she was in, will take place this morning.
Four-year-old Emma Lifsey suffered serious injuries following the horror crash at Beech Hill Crossing, Misson Springs. She was airlifted to Sheffield Children’s Hospital but died a few hours later.
The Haxey tot’s funeral will be held at the village’s St Nicholas’ Church.
There will also be a private cremation.
Flowers are requested from family only.
Donations may be sent to Yorkshire Air Ambulance or Sheffield Children’s Hospital care of W.E. Pinder and Son, 19 Thorne Road, Bawtry, Doncaster.
An investigation has been launched into the December 4 crash, which happened around 12.30pm.
The 67-year-old woman driving the Volvo suffered serious neck injuries and bruising. She was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary and has since been released.
A team of detectives are looking at how the vehicle came to be on tracks.
