The fourth annual Town Field Gala is set to take place on Sunday.
The event, hosted in partnership with Doncaster & Bassetlaw Kidney Association (DaBKA), South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Police, Doncaster Markets and Doncaster Voluntary Arts Network, is designed to raise awareness of organ donation and increase funds for DaBKA to support the sufferers of renal disease.
Cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, Joe Blackham, said: “The Town Field Gala is a fantastic event which really showcases Doncaster at its best. For the last three years, this event has been relished by people across the Borough, and I am looking forward to enjoying this year’s festivities, too.”
The fun begins at 12 noon on Town Field, off Thorne Road. There will be a variety of activities at the Gala, including a balloon race with a £100 cash prize, and stalls with a wide range of products, from food and toys to jewellery and fashion.
There will also be live entertainment, including a performance by the Black Cat Community Theatre, martial arts displays, and professional singing and dancing.
Deputy Civic Mayor and Town Moor ward councillor Paul Wray said: “This event is fantastic for Town Moor, and I’m very proud to see Town Field being utilised in a way that allows people from across the Borough to enjoy it.”
