Could Doncaster have two of the world’s smallest dogs?.

Meet Honia, a dinky Pomeranian all the way from Moscow who is also laying a claim to the title.

Last week’s Free Press featured photographs of Lacy Lou, a tiny Chihuahua from Wheatley, whose owner believes that she could be the smallest dog in the world.

After reading the story, Xenia Lee of Lakeside contacted us to say that Honia is even smaller.

Xenia continued: “I got Honia when she was about eight weeks old from a breeder in Moscow and she told me that I wouldn’t be able to breed from her because she is too small. She also said that Honia would be successful in competitions and shows, because she has the ideal standards for her breed.

“When she was a puppy she was the size of mobile phone and some people even thought she was a hamster. Now Honia is six years old and a bit bigger than a remote control.”

Xenia arrived in the UK five years ago to study and brought Honia along with her as she didn’t want to be parted.
