A CHILDREN’S charity is helping residents write wills for themselves.
Barnardo’s is promoting the free service as part of its Remember A Charity Week which runs until Sunday.
The scheme is to help highlight the importance of residents leaving gifts to charities in their will.
The Barnardo’s shop in Mill Street, Armthorpe, began promoting the service this week.
There will be free advice on offer from representatives at Doncaster-based law firm QualitySolicitors Jordans who will be in the store.
Dylan Carroll, who manages the Barnardo’s free will scheme, said: “Almost half of Barnardo’s income from the general public is donated through wills and the money raised is vital to help Barnardo’s continue its work with deprived children.
“The scheme aims to make more people aware of the benefits of writing a Will and after provision is made for family and friends to consider remembering Barnardo’s to help change the lives of disadvantaged children forever.”
