JOB-HUNTERS can pick up advice - and get a health check - at a free event in Mexborough on Thursday, February 9.
Local employers and training providers will be on hand at Mexborough Resource Centre between 10am and 3pm to help people tap into employment opportunities listed on the web.
Digital champions from the Doncaster West Development Trust (DWDT) will provide internet training, while representatives from Jobcentre Plus, A4E and Doncaster Chamber are also attending to answer any questions.
NHS nurses will be offering free blood pressure, BMI and cholesterol checks to people aged between 40 and 74.
DWDT organiser Sue Oxley said: “Even if they’ve never used a computer before, this will provide an easy introduction to the internet and show them how it could help them achieve their goals.
“Access to employment and training opportunities is an important part of this event but people can come along to find out all sorts of things such as how to become a volunteer or access public services.”
