A four-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after colliding with a van.

Police were called to Church Road, Stainforth at 11.40am to reports of the collision involving a Ford Transit van and the child pedestrian.

The four-year-old girl has been taken to hospital in Leeds by air ambulance.

It is not thought her injuries are life threatening.

Church Road is closed between Junction Road and Field Road.
