tourism assessors have given a Doncaster inn and bed and breakfast a four star rating.
Staff at The Angel Inn in Misson are celebrating the award of the star rating as well as an extra special congratulations for their breakfasts.
Landlady Simone Fallon is thrilled with news of the accolade and has a busy calendar of events in the run up to Christmas.
A representative from Quality In Tourism visited the Dame Lane pub and carried out a full inspection of all the rooms, including an overnight stay and dinner, room service and breakfast the following morning.
She said: “In addition to our 4* we received a Breakfast Award which is given to establishments offering ‘exceptional’ standards at breakfast, based on an assessment of the quality, choice, presentation and service of breakfast. Needless to say, we are over the moon!”
As well as celebrating the award, the Inn is also gearing up for Christmas - with one remaining table for a Christmas Day meal for six.
They are also taking bookings for a special gala dinner on New Year’s Eve - with a six course gourmet meal at £60 per person.
The Angel is no stranger to awards, having previously gained recognition as Doncaster’s first gastropub in a national newspaper as well as the best community pub in the Warm Welcome awards.
A makeover over the summer saw all rooms redecorated and recarpeted with new pictures and bedding throughout.
The pub puts on events throughout the year including regular classic car rallys, which have proved extremely popular.
They are also planning a series of fundraising events to bring in cash for Misson Church.
