A former police inspector turned crime fiction author is preparing for the launch of his latest book.

Michael Fowler, 56, of Swinton, spent a career bringing rapists, murderers and sex offenders to justice in the Dearne Valley and is now using his real life experiences to inspire stories in his writing career.

The married father-of-two has just completed his latest book ‘Coming, Ready or Not’, the fifth in his Detective Sergeant Hunter Kerr series.

It tells the story of how DS Kerr attempts to track down a brutal killer after a woman’s beaten body is discovered.

The gruesome crime could have links to the killing of DS Kerr’s former girlfriend a few years earlier.

Mr Fowler said: “A lot of my own personal experiences investigating serious crimes are put into book. It has been a fantastic new venture.”

The book is set for release on September 4. Order copies from caffeine-nights.com
