CHILDREN attending an Askern football school have netted £100 from a Doncaster housing organisation to help keep them fit, healthy and active this summer holiday.

The money has been used to help run a week long FIFA soccer school run by LIFE is Fitness personal trainer and football coach Bradley Johnston at the Askern Villa Football Club, behind the miners’ welfare.

St Leger Homes has donated the money from its positive activities fund.

Bradley, who used to play for Scunthorpe United, said: “I’ve been running the five day school for kids aged five to 14 because keeping young people active stops anti-social behaviour. The school gives them something to do during the school holidays. I remember when I was young, all I wanted to do was play football.”

Bradley is running soccer schools throughout the school holidays. For more ring 07732 475 626.
