A COLLEGE floristry department has received bloomin’ marvellous backing from one of the UK’s largest wholesalers of floral supplies.

Sponsorship from leading firm Country Baskets means Doncaster College’s floristry students can now learn and watch from high-class professionals in the industry as well as have the chance to cultivate work-based opportunities in the future.

The support came on the back of a visit from the supply company’s resident designer Jonathan Moseley who worked with budding flower arrangers at the college in Chappell Drive, demonstrating his vast array of skills in the industry.

Kerry Marr, assistant director of land based studies at the college, said: “This has brought about fantastic learning opportunities for our learners to observe professionals and celebrities in the world of work and this has opened up a whole host of experiences for our learners.
