FLOOD alerts have been removed across several parts of the borough as river levels continue to drop.

Doncaster Council is closely monitoring areas of Doncaster that were particularly hit following the weekend’s severe downpours.

There are now no flood alerts for the Ea Beck Catchment River Skell from Hemsworth to Thorpe-in-Balne, the River Don Middle Catchment Kelham Island to Hexthorpe and River Don Lower Catchment, the authority said.

A number of roads and bridges have since re-opened but Fordstead Lane and Thorpe Bank in Barnby Dun, remain closed and are being monitored because of flooding along Marsh Lane.
