TWO flights have been cancelled at Doncaster’ Robin Hood Airport after the Vulcan failed to take off.

Engine problems scuppered the planned this morning’s practice flight of the legendary last-flying bomber.

Holidaymakers heading back from Ibiza and Menorca have had their flights diverted to Manchester and East Midlands.

The runway was due to open at about 1.30pm after the incident just after midday.

An airport spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for the disruption caused.”

He added that an investigation would take place into what happened to the Vulcan.
