A BRIGHT spark is on a mission to improve the enviroment and urging others to play their part in saving the planet.

Charlotte Hobson will be switching off her lights for an hour tonight at 8.30pm and wants everybody to do the same.

The 21-year-old Doncaster College student is doing it as part of a campaign called Earth Hour that the World Wild Life Fund is staging.

The Life Skills Course student from Everton, said: “It’s a global event where hundred of millions of people turn off their lights all across the world.

“Earth Hour is not just about saving an hours electricity, it’s about realising that the actions we take, from the energy we use to the food that we buy and the water we drink, has an effect on the world.

“It does not cost you anything and you could be helping to save our wonderful planet.”
