Fire in Darfield

Arsonists were blamed for starting a fire to a hay bail in farmers’ fields in Darfield.

Firefighters from Cudworth station were called to the scene on Capri Court at 7.15pm on Monday.

They used backpack water jets and beaters to put the flames out and left the scene after about half an hour.

A spokeswoman for the brigade said it had been started deliberately.
