THE mother of a fallen Rawmarsh soldier, whose inquest took place this week, has revealed she has not seen her baby grandson since last August.
Baby James Leverett, named after his late father, was born in August 2010, just weeks after his trooper dad was killed while serving in Afghanistan.
Following the Rotherham inquest in to the soldier’s death, his mother, Sharon Leverett, said the hearing had given the family closure, but added: “The next stage will be fighting to see my grandson”.
She told how 17-months old James is at the centre of a battle between herself and the baby’s mum, 20-year old Tiffany Lound, and how the heartbreak is affecting both sides of the family.
Said Sharon, 38, of St Nicolas’ Road: “I’ve not seen James for six months. I’ve only seen him on television and in magazines or the paper”.
