Festive land train to run through Doncaster town centre this Christmas

A festive land train is set to trundle through the streets of Doncaster for the very first time this Christmas.

The train will be chugging its way through the town centre from December 1 to Christmas Eve, transporting shoppers and youngsters on a fun journey aimed at bringing a touch of Christmas colour to Doncaster.

Revealed by tourism chiefs on the Visit Doncaster Facebook page, the annoucement said: “Ride the Christmas Land Train. We will have our very own train to take you through Doncaster with your Christmas shopping or just for fun.”

The train will stop at St Sepulchre Gate (next to Bargain Buys) The Market (loading bay next to The Queen pub) and Ward Brothers (for Waterdale, Cast theatre and the oudtoor ice rink.

Fares will be 50p for adults and 20p for children.
The train’s arrival comes after the opening of an outdoor ice skating rink in Sir Nigel Gresley Square which opened last week and will be in action throughout the festive season and into the New Year.
