Fatal road traffic collision in Crowle

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that happened at around 8am on Saturday, December 17, on the A18 approximately 300m west of the junction with the A161 Crowle crossroads.

A 21-year-old man, driving a blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa, was in collision with a silver coloured BMW 520D just west of the cross roads while travelling towards Hatfield.

This resulted in the 21-year-old driver, Harry Travers of Ealand, suffering serious injuries which required treatment at the scene before he was taken by ambulance to Scunthorpe General Hospital. He sadly died a short time later as a result of the injuries he had sustained.

The 48-year-old male driver of the BMW was also taken by ambulance to Scunthorpe General Hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

Road closures were in place in order for the initial collision investigation to take place and for the scene to be safely cleared. All roads re-opened shortly before 2pm.
