A jobs bonanza looks set to improve employment prospects for hundreds of unemployed people in the Dearne Valley, with planned call centre and retail park expansions.
Manvers-based Capita has announced that 500 new job opportunities will arise in the Dearne Valley and Leeds over coming months, with applications being accepted now.
And plans for expansion at Cortonwood Retail Park, that could bring a further 250 jobs to the area, have got the green light from Rotherham Council, following appeal.
The customer service roles with Capita have no minimum qualification requirements. The company says it is seeking “enthusiastic individuals” who may ideally have customer service experience.
New recruits will be employed to deal with high-street brands including telecoms, retail and utility firms. There are full and part-time vacancies, with benefits that include access to an on-site gym.

The Cortonwood plans are set to make the park 30 per cent larger, and involve the development of six new stores on the site that already boasts several major retailers.
