A SCHOOL caretaker has had the pupils look after her for a change to mark her retirement after 26 years.

Irene Whailin, 61, handed back her keys after almost three decades working at Southfield Primary School in Tranmoor Lane, Armthorpe.

The pupils created an array of colourful pieces of art and cards to wish Mrs Whailin a happy retirement, and even held a special assembly to present the gifts.
