ELECTIONS 2015: Rosie Winterton keeps Doncaster Central seat

Chief Labour whip, Rosie Winterton, has held on to her Doncaster Central seat - it was revealed just a moment ago.

A total of 19,840 people voted for the Doncaster Central MP, who has represented the constituency since 1997.

Ms Winterton increased her majority by a total of 3,864 votes.

The number of votes cast for each candidate in descending order were:

• Rosie Winterton - Labour: 19,840

• Chris Hodgson - UK Independence Party (UKIP): 9,747

• Zoe Metcalfe - The Conservative Party candidate: 8,386

• John Brown - The Liberal Democrats: 1,717

• Mev Akram - The Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition: 421
