One of Doncaster’s highest achieving academies has been placed in special measures after being judged as “inadequate” following the latest Ofsted inspection.

Trinity Academy in Thorne has fallen from the highest possible level “outstanding” to “inadequate across all four areas after failing to impress inspectors in December.

A statement from the Board of Directors, Trinity Academy: “We are extremely disappointed with the inspectors’ judgement. It comes after nine years of considerable improvement and success at Trinity Academy, which has had an incredibly positive impact on the opportunities and aspirations of young people in Thorne, Moorends and beyond.”
