A DONCASTER school which was devastated by fire is rising like a phoenix from the ashes.
Most of the structure at the new Campsmount School in Norton is now in place.
Headteacher Andy Sprakes was given a tour of the site to see how the project was progressing.
Builders moved on to the site in February less than six months after the £10 million scheme was given the go-ahead.
Campsmount Technology College was severely damaged after a huge blaze ripped through the building in December 2009.
Up to 60 firefighters were involved in tackling the fire which was put down to an accident.
The gym, library and classrooms were saved, but the rest of the school was gutted.
A spokesman for Doncaster Council said the school was on track for completion in February 2012.
Mr Sprakes said: “The new school will provide a wonderful learning environment.”
