Parents and children at a Rotherham school have donated money and gifts to a South Yorkshire hospice.
Pupils from Rudston Preparatory School, Broom Road, Rotherham, presented a cheque for £200 to Ann Humberstone, from Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The money, which has been raised by the school’s Friends committee, will go towards stocking the North Anston hospice’s ‘messy room’ with arts and craft resources.
Other gifts, which will go into making Christmas hampers to be raffled over the next few weeks to raise funds for the hospice, were also donated by pupils and parents.
Guy Willatt, headteacher, said: “Over a number of years, Rudston School has struck up a close relationship with Bluebell Wood.
“It is a charity close to our hearts as parents and teachers.
“We are delighted once again to make a donation through funds raised by the Friends of Rudston.
“We are also pleased to provide products for Bluebell Wood’s messy room.
“Hopefully the children enjoy making a mess.”
